The Paleolithic Diet - also popularly referred to as the caveman diet, is a modern nutritional plan based on the presumed diet of wild plants and animals that various humans ate during the Paleolithic era. This was from about 2.5 million years to 10,000 years ago and ended with the development of agriculture and grain-based diets. Of course, meat is more energy-dense (up to 1.7 calories per gram), but it supposed to be about half of the diet. Today’s processed food eaten by the masses has densities in the 2.4 to 2.8 calories/gram range and desserts like cookies and chocolate bars exceed 4 calories/gram The Paleo diet is clean in the way that you know what you are putting in your body.
